is home to hundreds of thousands of artists from around the globe, uploading and selling their original works as 50 premium consumer goods from Art Prints to Throw Blankets. They create, we produce and fulfill, and every purchase pays an artist. Simple but huge.

We are looking for a 3D artist who is dedicated, results-oriented, and a tenacious problem-solver to join the Society6 creative team at our Santa Monica, CA office.  We are solving a unique problem using 3D rendering and modeling, which will keep you challenged and engaged in new technology and techniques. On top of that, our 3D models are used to create billions of unique images, which could give an 3D artists a sense of pride.

You’ll Report To: Visual Director

A typical day as a 3D Artist might include:

Work with Product team to generate exceptional, photorealistic product renderings

Collaborating with other members of the creative team to build product imagery using Blender or other 3D applications

Recreate physical products into 3D models for product imagery in both studio and lifestyle environments

Build and align UV maps to match and align with physical “real world” products

Adjust cameras, lighting, and texturing based on feedback from the creative team

Optimize and “dive deep” into 3D scenes to reduce render time without sacrificing quality

Contribute to our never-ending journey of quality improvement

You’ll be successful if you are a 3D artist who understands how to work with the team to create world-class product imagery while being efficient and keeping the process moving. The ideal candidate is professional, passionate about art and photography, proficient in the craft, and understands the technical pipeline of production. What You Have:

Ability to model, light, texture, and render photo-realistic scenes

2 Years experience with Blender

Expert-level understanding of rendering process and scene optimization

Strong Photoshop skills for airbrushing and creating composite images from multiple layers

Ability to work independently and proactively

Excellent verbal and written communication

Not afraid to wear multiple hats - no job being too small or too large

Hunger to always be learning something new

Huge Pluses:

Experience with 3D modeled product imagery

Experience with Marvelous Designer
