POSITION SUMMARY: 

The production artist is a technical and creative position supporting the development and execution of creative marketing assets. The Production artist will work closely with the Creative Services team to execute the design and prepare files for production and publication. The Project Management and Operations team will assign work to the Production Artist based on volume of work in the marketing studio requiring production support. The core hours for this position will be 10AM to 6PM EST, Monday to Thursday (Remote). The assignment will be until October.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES/ACCOUNTABILITIES OF THE JOB: 

• Will assist in-house art directors and senior graphic designers with execution of in-store, digital, packaging and other marketing materials for Speedo
• Will ensure the accuracy of design files in the latter stages of development
• Light Art Direction, heavy Production work
• Enthusiastic about production and the challenges that come along with it

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:

Experience:  

• 2 to 4 years of experience of creative design and production process experience
• 2 to 4 years working on a Mac using the Adobe Creative Suite (In Design, Illustrator, Photoshop)
• Experience working with the following file types: packaging design, multiple page documents, files intended to be viewed on digital platforms
• Experience converting an art file into multiple iterations, including various sizes and dimensions
• Experience building mechanicals for pre-production / pre-press

                  

Education:   

• BFA in Graphic Design or similar field

Skills: 

• Adobe Creative Suite: Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop
• Understanding of standard printing specifications, CMYK & Spot colors
• Working knowledge of packaging die lines
• Comfortable working on multi page documents with assigned style sheets
• Comfortable working with multi layered Photoshop files
• Comfortable working with multi language layouts
• Familiar with job tracking applications, Wrike & Smartsheets a plus
• Working with long and short deadlines
• Meticulous attention to detail
• Thorough understanding of pre-flight, pre-production requirements
• Success working with various teams to complete each project
• Ability to work on numerous projects simultaneously with aggressive turnaround deadlines
