The Senior Product Designer - User Experience (UX) creates engaging user experiences through user centered research, design, and feedback methodologies. This position works through multiple levels of fidelity starting with a problem statement, exploring concepts, and delivering designs that are developed into usable, scalable, accessible, and desirable user interfaces. Product designers are assigned to a cross functional sprint team with engineers and a product manager, and are also expected to closely collaborate with their fellow UX team members.
Has a demonstrated foundation and understanding of user-centered design methodologies and has a growth mindset, actively seeks information to continually grow subject matter experience. Can communicate work at various levels of fidelity and tie back decisions to qualitative and quantitative data points—strong communication, presentation, and facilitation skills to ensure clear and effective collaboration with other designers and project stakeholders.
Has a toolbox of UX, Data, and Design-centered tools; is proficient in Figma, Sketch, or XD, has experience with remote collaboration; and can effectively communicate in a digital environment. Knows which UX tool and what methodology to use to answer questions about users.
Uses heuristics to measure and communicate the task load related to the user, seeking to answer the way. Designs usable, feasible, desirable, and accessible experiences that do not just focus on the happy path. Can connect work to the larger company vision.
Responsibilities
Partner with designers, UX researchers, content strategists, cx designers, service designers, and product managers to gather persona insights, test, and iterate on designs.
Be the champion for users and testing by partnering with research to validate assumptions and hypotheses.
Contribute at each phase of the design process and will have the opportunity to lead other designers to help improve our design team processes
Build awareness and give meaningful critique across apps, effectively collaborate and support design efforts throughout the Collective product.
Mentor other designers on the product design team to level up their skillset
Ensure your design solutions are inclusive, with great attention to WCAG 2.1 compliance prioritizing accessibility early in the process
Deliver a harmonious experience across apps in alignment with the **MEMBERS ONLY**SIGN UP NOW***. Brand collaborating with UX design and developer colleagues to maintain and grow the design system and patterns library
Contribute to product strategy, and drive for best in class experiences beyond incremental features.
Create artifacts that communicate the user needs and create value across the design process - present and share those findings in an easy to understand and digestible way.
Facilitate brainstorming and co-design activities with internal stakeholders and customers
Prioritize diversity, equity, and inclusion in your everyday work to create an environment of respect
Protect the confidentiality, integrity, and availability (CIA) of Widen and Client information held, in any form
Perform other duties as assigned
Required Skills:
5 years experience as a user experience design professional - bonus having specific product designer experience (other relevant titles, UX designer, UI/UX designer, Experience designer)
The product designer has a strong portfolio that demonstrates user-centered design methodologies - artifacts that showcase a deep understanding of the interaction design, information architecture, prototyping, and inclusive design quantified by data and articulated with measurement of success.
High proficiency with UI design, prototyping, research, and data tools. An expert in at least one primary design tool, Figma, Sketch, or XD.
Self-motivated and the ability to work with ambiguity
Experience working in a remote, digital-first environment with the communication written and verbal skills to back it.
Skilled at working effectively in cross-functional teams in a dynamic, fast-paced environment
