POSITION SUMMARY: 

The Designer II will be responsible for development of Calvin Klein Collaborations and special projects in line with company/label directives. They will collaborate with cross-functional partners on the fit and execution of all products, as well as work closely with Sales and Merchandising to understand customer needs and drive sales.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES/ACCOUNTABILITIES OF THE JOB: 

• Designs trend right, saleable product to drive sales applicable to Collaborations lines.
• Supervises fittings from first prototypes to samples ensuring design aesthetic and overall garment quality.
• Partners with Technical Design in the creation of tech packs as well as during fit sessions.
• Creates and updates all tech pack sketches and bill of materials.
• Prepares development packages.
• Creates wash briefs and presents to Technical Services team.
• Ensures calendar deadline achievement.
• Researches the market and trend services to keep designs trend correct.
• Works with Sourcing team to execute high quality product within calendar timelines.
• Follows up on all preproduction details: color, fabric, and trim; to ensure consistent high quality.
• Presents sketches and tech pack sketches based on Design Director’s direction to design and tech team.
• Delivers all design decisions to important departments (Sourcing, Merchandising and Tech).
• Creates and updates line sheet, so that it can be formally distributed between departments.
• Works with Design Director to build assortment base on business needs.
• Prepares design presentations to review with senior management.
• Partners with other design departments such as Underwear or Mainline for capsule projects.

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:

Experience: At least 6 years of related Design experience   

        

Education:  Bachelor’s Degree in Fashion Design     

Skills: 

• Must be technically skilled and capable to make all comments during fit sessions
• PLM – create and maintain design packages
• Aesthetically keen eye
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Excellent color matching skills
• Proficient in Photoshop, illustrator, Excel, PowerPoint, Acrobat or other related technical experience
