Join us.The role at a glance:NBBJ\u00A0Seattle\u00A0is seeking a full-time, in-house, Mid-Level Environmental\u00A0Graphic/Experience Designer to join our Environmental Graphic Design Experience Design Studio. We are looking for a passionate and creative designer with exceptional skills to join our dynamic team - someone who is thoughtful, highly creative, and thorough in their design process. This individual will work cross-functionally within the studio team and collaborate with design teams across our corporate, commercial, civic, healthcare, and sports practices within NBBJ worldwide. Candidates must be willing and able to work in-person in the Seattle NBBJ office. Why this role is important to NBBJ:As a\u00A0Mid-Level Environmental Graphic/Experience Designer, you will integrate with design teams, collaborate with Architects and designers from many disciplines, utilize your knowledge of architecture and design to infuse storytelling with the built environment. You are adept at developing creative, design concepts to evoke emotion, add clarity, and create unique experiences for end users. You are a collaborator, ready to join a team of thinkers and doers who help craft the brand, story, and experience for our clients. You have fabrication and architectural knowledge (3D modeling/technical skills are a plus), and understand how to deliver small- to large-scale, multi-faceted EGD/XD projects. You would be responsible for both leading and supporting design for projects, coordinating with architectural project teams, occasionally presenting to clients, and helping your team deliver designs you create. You will be joining a multi-disciplinary team with diverse backgrounds, talents, and passions that create spaces intended to improve the experiences and lives of others. We are looking for a designer who exhibits unorthodox design thinking, peculiarity, and has a keen sense of storytelling.In your new role, you will:Work with a multi-disciplinary team of architects, lighting, landscape, and interior designers to design sculptural landmark installations, experiential and branded environments, signage, and wayfinding solutions that connect people to their environment and to our clients\u2019 brands.Collaborate with design teams across multiple building and market types\u2026constantly building rapport with design teams within and outside of NBBJ.Guide, and collaborate with design teams to create experiences by integrating messaging, color, imagery, type, and digital media with built environments.Understand graphic, signage and architectural materials and construction techniques, as well as electronic display media.Develop innovative wayfinding strategies and methodologies for increasing navigational clarity for end users.Work as a team member to deliver high quality projects, collaborating with builders and fabricators.Be accountable to team and schedule, while upholding the highest design. What you will need to succeed:Bachelor\u2019s degree or equivalent experience in graphic design, industrial design, environmental design, architecture, visual communication, or related field.5 years of demonstrated experience in architecture and environmental graphic design preferred.Strong conceptual thinking, rendering, and sketching ability.Experience with planning, documentation, and management of environmental graphic, wayfinding, and signage projects in the context of the built environment.Expertise in Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop), and MS Office required.Proficiency in SketchUp, Rhino and/or other 3D modeling programs highly desired.Proficiency in Revit and/or AutoCAD is a plus.Keen knowledge of architectural construction documentation required. Understanding of how to integrate with architectural materials and building systems required.The annual base pay range for this role is anticipated to be between $66,000 and $78,000.
