Description
The Learning Design Professional 2 uses instructional design, cognitive psychology and adult learning theory to determine the appropriate solution to a knowledge or performance gap. The Learning Design Professional 2 work assignments are varied and frequently require interpretation and independent determination of the appropriate courses of action.
Responsibilities
Location: work at home anywhere
The Learning Design Professional 2 analyzes content, organizes content, designs solutions, and writes storyboards, scripts, performance support, mobile learning and manuals. Analyzes learning needs and partners with subject matter experts to provide input for course content. Writes effective learning objectives and coordinates performance assessments to measure training effectiveness. Ensures course materials are current and relevant to training needs. Tracks and analyzes the training programs effectiveness by examining learner's satisfaction levels, proficiency testing, and job performance improvement. Provides instruction and guidance to Facilitators. Knows how to use social media and collaborative tools to facilitate learning. Plans, organizes, and develops training curriculum, materials, job performance aids and programs to meet specific training needs. Uses consultative skills to commit projects and conduct needs analysis with clients to determine whether learning solutions are necessary or relevant. Understands department, segment, and organizational strategy and operating objectives, including their linkages to related areas.
Manages the project from initiation to closure; develops initiation/charter documentation, work plans, communication processes, and scope change processes; secures appropriate resources and coordinates tasks
Consults with business partners to match organizational needs with appropriate solutions.
Conducts needs analyses and uses findings to develop learning solutions targeted precisely to meet audience needs.
Uses a disciplined instructional design approach to create learning solutions.
Selects appropriate media for delivery (instructor-led, e-learning, virtual, blended) to ensure that needs are dealt with in an effective and efficient manner
Identifies and validates content to be used in instructional materials based on input from subject matter experts or key performers.
Creates high quality materials that are instructionally sound, complete, accurate, and convey learning concepts creatively.
Selects appropriate learning activities and methods to achieve objectives, and builds those activities into a meaningful sequence.
Designs and develops tools to evaluate learning results and business impact.
Effectively evaluates the success of training programs in terms of learning outcomes and performance change identifying trends and patterns in data.
Prepares facilitator support materials (i.e. power point slides, leader/facilitator guides, and evaluation tools) and trainers for delivery of learning experiences.
In addition to the instructional design work outlined, the associate who join this team will have the chance to build this learning & development, process, and best practice team.
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience
Less than 3 years or more of experience creating and delivering learning content
Prior demonstrated capability leading learning projects
Progressive business and financial analytics experience with a focus on learning strategies and adult learning theories
Experience working with learning management systems
Must have experience using offering tools such as but not limited: Captivate, Camtasia, InDesign, etc.
Preferred Qualifications:
Master's Degree in one of the following areas: Business Administration; Instructional Design, Education; Human Resources or Related field.
