Position Summary

We are searching for an Innovation Apparel and Digital Designer I to join Under Armour’s Innovation Design Team , with a focus on solving athlete problems through innovative design solutions across all apparel and digital design. We are looking for a strong designer with a clear point-of-view centered around a deep understanding of how to solve complex problems through beautiful, functional design solutions. We need a self-motivated individual, that is highly collaborative and looks to engage in - and build - strong partnerships across Under Armour’s Product Creation Engine.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Research into specific sports, Material and Vendors.

identify athlete needs via direct conversations and research.

Analyzing data from Partners in testing functions and Business Units as well as external partners.

Hands on prototype exploration focused on technical, functional solves, informed by insights, validated in lab and on body, creating toolbox solutions that can be leverage across the brand.

Create holistic performance roadmaps with clear concept problem statements and athlete benefits, informed by consumer and athlete insights, that identify whitespace opportunities aligned to long range plans.

Manage design lead innovation platforms inclusive of timeline and resource needs.

Key collaborator across the innovation and product creation engine (materials, bio-mech, design, product) helping partners unlock possibilities

Clear and Consistent communication with all partners.

Set up and lead technology workshops ensuring our cross-functional teammates have the necessary tools and information to create performance solutions our athletes need.

Research and collaborate with internal and external partners to identify new resources and opportunities to bring innovative solutions to marketing.

Drive partnerships beyond the Design function (Development, Materials, Consumer Insights, Marketing, etc)

Culturally aware, using appropriate communication with partners across our global network

Education And / Or Experience

BA, BFA or BS in Industrial Design, Product Design or Apparel Design (preferred not required)

0-3 yrs experience designing and developing innovative apparel and other products

Other Requirements

Expert Photoshop and Illustrator skills, 3D software design tools.

Strong sketching, illustration, and rendering skills

Must be able to generate a broad range of concepts and solutions for each project

Hands on prototyping skills are a plus or willingness to learn

Experienced with presentation programs: Keynote, Powerpoint, Acrobat, etc
