Engineering Designer Jobs description
The use of CAD and CAM has made designing for manufacturing and construction purposes much simpler. The best-known engineering designer jobs are mechanical engineering designer, electrical engineering designer, structural design engineer, architectural designer, drafter, and draftsperson.Manufacturing design includes designing electrical schematics, loop drawings, panel layouts, mechanical layouts, substations, transformers, panel cut-outs, assembly drawings, complete mechanical enclosures, castings, machine parts, machine tools, machine components, assemblies, pumps, motors, compressors, machined housings, architectural buildings, construction plans, and trusses and bars, among other projects.
Employers that hire engineering designers in various disciplines include manufacturing companies, construction companies, substations, electrical components manufacturers, hardware manufacturers, builders, and power plants. All engineering designer positions require an engineering degree. Excellent academic credentials and strong knowledge of the area in question are also required.
